Day 1
Arrive in Guwahati, the vibrant gateway to Northeast India. The day is dedicated to check-in and scrutinizing motorcycles and gear to ensure safety and readiness. Participate in the introductory briefing, where the route and safety protocols are discussed, setting the tone for an epic adventure ahead.
Day 2
Begin your ride with sweeping views of Assam’s lush floodplains, tracing the contours of the Brahmaputra River. The route offers a smooth tarmac experience with glimpses of rural life and verdant landscapes. Arrive at Kaziranga National Park, famous globally for its thriving one-horned rhino population.
Day 3
Ride eastward into Assam’s tea heartland. The lush plantation vistas and serene river scenes punctuate this stretch, challenging riders with rolling terrain and occasional broken roads. Reach Dibrugarh, known as the ‘Tea City of India’, where authentic Assamese culture and hospitality greet you.
Day 4
Cross into Arunachal Pradesh, transitioning from plains to hills with winding roads and scenic river crossings. The ride builds in elevation, bringing crisp mountain air and panoramic views. Aalo, with its unique Galo tribal culture, offers deep immersion into indigenous traditions, including crafts, dances, and warm village life.
Day 5
Venture further into the remote, high-altitude realms of Arunachal. The ride is marked by hairpin bends, forested passes, and magnificent Himalayan vistas. Mechuka provides a serene valley setting enhanced by Tibetan Buddhist influences.
Day 6
Enjoy a rest day in Mechuka to absorb the region’s culture and natural beauty. Participate in hands-on workshops around local dance, traditional cooking methods, and indigenous crafts. Evening storytelling sessions by villagers weave tales of migration and mythology, deepening the connection to this Himalayan sanctuary.
Day 7
Retrace your route through stunning mountain landscapes, descending through rivers and valleys back to Aalo. Take time to savor Galo hospitality and indulge in local culinary delights, reinforcing cultural understanding through shared meals and interactive sessions.
Day 8
The ride shifts to subtropical valleys crossing diverse tribal homelands. This long day involves varied terrain including dirt tracks and tarmac, providing contrasts in riding experience. Reach Namsai to immerse in Tai Khamti and Singpho traditions, from serene meditation sessions at the Golden Pagoda.
Day 9
Entering Nagaland’s steep hills, encounter road conditions that mix rougher paths with scenic elevation gains. Mon introduces the fierce, proud Konyak tribe, tattooed warriors renowned for headhunting lore. Experience tribal markets, and potent local cuisine characterized by smoked pork and fermented bamboo shoots.
Day 10
Cross the unique border village of Longwa, where the Konyak chief’s house physically straddles India and Myanmar. Engage with tribal elders, absorbing oral histories and witnessing crafts that have remained unchanged for centuries. Continue to historic Sivasagar, known for its Ahom-era monuments and cultural treasures.
Day 11
Traverse from Assam’s plains into Nagaland’s verdant hills. Kohima, Nagaland’s vibrant capital, pulses with Angami tribal energy, weaving its rich warrior traditions and bustling bazaars. Watch powerful dance performances and explore indigenous crafts, all while enjoying honey-glazed smoked meat and fresh seasonal greens.
Day 12
A day of ecological and cultural discovery in Khonoma, India’s ‘Green Village.’ Engage in sustainable farming practices, join folk music sessions, and hear tales of the Angami tribe’s conservation efforts. This immersive rest day nurtures soul and spirit alike.
Day 13
An epic final ride descending from Nagaland’s hills to Assam’s expansive plains. Reflect on the journey’s contrasts from remote mountains to bustling cities before arriving back in Guwahati. Relax on a poetic Brahmaputra river cruise as the sun sets over Guwahati. Enjoy a farewell dinner featuring authentic cuisines and soulful folk music.
