Situated at an altitude of 16,040 feet, Baralacha La Pass is a high mountain pass in the Zanskar range. It is a high plateau where three different mountain ranges - Pir Panjal and Zanskar meet at an altitude above 16,000 feet. By the time you reach here you would have had a taste of ascending and descending the mountains as well as probably a water crossing too.
On the Leh Manali Highway, Sarchu is almost the Mid-Point of the entire route on the boundary between the states of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. This is a major stop on this route and is famous for the magnificent tents pitched here and the clear starlit skies. You will most certainly lose mobile networks here as this is one place which has remained isolated from communication.
Umling La is a mountain pass in Ladakh, India. The elevation of the pass is 19024 feet. It is the world's highest motorable road and pass that now features on the bucket list of almost every motorcycle rider. This would mark the pinnacle of your adventure, something that most would look forward to. This pass has a reputation of unpredictable weather changes that makes it even more exciting to ride up to. Definitely a place where you would spend considerable time capturing moments of your adventure this is one of the ‘Highest’ points of the Himalayan Odyssey 2022.
Nested inside Spiti valley, Kaza is home to Komic, Asia's highest village located at an altitude of 15,027 feet, connected to civilization via motorable roads. The remoteness of this place is what adds to its uniqueness as it has retained a lot of the old world charm in it. At a distance of 14 km from the main town of Kaza lies Key Gompa, which stands high on top of a hill. At the height of 13,668 ft, it is the biggest Buddhist monastery in Spiti valley and a religious training centre for Lama’s. The walls of the monastery are decorated with beautiful paintings and murals, thangkas (a painted or embroidered Tibetan banner) & valuable manuscripts. This marks the descent of the ride as now you would ride back to the lower hills of Himachal and back towards civilization.
Day 15
Kaza is surrounded by mountain ranges on all sides and is popular for the spectacular Key Monastery and fascinating high-altitude villages including Kibber, Langza & Komic. Don’t forget to send yourself a postcard from the highest post office of the world in Hikkim Village.
Day 16
After a well-deserved and eventful rest day at Kaza you would enter into the final stages of our ride towards Kalpa. We ride along the Satluj river with beautiful roads cut through the mountains that make riding even more pleasurable. Kapla gives you a magnificent view of Kinner Kailash peak and is known for its apple orchards around the world.
Day 17
After several days of off-road terrain you would hit the tarmac surrounded by pine & spruce trees on the penultimate day of the ride on your way towards Narkanda.
Day 18
On the final day, you ride back towards the plains to reach Chandigarh where the ride comes to an end. And with that, a lifelong pursuit of exploration begins in every rider. The end of an Epic Ride is marked by Certificate Distribution and a small celebration.
Day 19
This day you would check out of the hotel and start your journey back to your homes.
Day 15
You would get to ride on More Plains once again, a 50 km stretch of flatlands at an elevation of 15,000 feet with a flat and smooth tarmac flanked by mountain ranges on both sides. A Photographer’s delight this place will give you opportunities for some of the best group photos and shots one can have as it has vast desolate expanses all around.
Day 16
After a hearty breakfast in the lap of nature, you start riding towards Jispa. The scenery also changes from high mountains to lush green forests. Riders will be covering 85 km on day 15.
Day 17
A short ride of around 100 km through the Atal Tunnel to Manali in the Northern End of Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh. Atal tunnel is the longest highway single-tube tunnel above 10,000 feet (3,048 m) in the world.
Day 18
On the final day, you ride back towards the plains to reach Chandigarh where the ride comes to an end. And with that, a lifelong pursuit of exploration begins in every rider. The end of an Epic Ride is marked by Certificate Distribution and a small celebration.
Day 19
This day you would check out of the hotel and start your journey back to your homes.
