For 7 days, photography enthusiasts are invited to ride a motorcycle on some of the highest roads in the world and learn to capture Ladakh’s surreal beauty in photographs. With professional guidance provided to hobbyists that ride Royal Enfields, this ride is ideal to expand the scope of everyones’ knowledge of photography, especially Astrophotography. Learn to capture the beauty of the night sky where the milky way shines back at you !
Navaneeth Unnikrishnan is self-taught photographer, traveller, nature and night sky admirer based out of Kerala. He is a Sony, Fstop Gear, PolarPro & Manfrotto Ambassador. He often ventures out to the darkest, most remote locations all around the world for capturing the beauty of the night sky and deep space. His images are published in Magazines and websites including National Geographic, BBC, Buzzfeed, Space.com, Digital Camera Magazine, IndiaToday and Air India just to name a few.
At 11,562 ft above msl, Leh serves as the capital of the Ladakh region of India.
Situated at 14270 ft above msl, Pangong Tso is a salt water lake with a total length of 134 kms. Its home to rich fauna such as Kiangs and Marmots.
Home to the Indian Astronomical Observatory, Hanle is a village in Ladakh. Lying on the old Ladakh Tibet trade route, Hanle is blessed with wide lush valleys and a night sky to remember.
A fluctuating salt lake, Tso Kar lies in the Rupshu Plateau. It is home to nomadic pasteurs owing to its huge grassland.

On the first edition of Royal Enfield's Astral Ride, aspiring photographers from around the country rode across the Himalayas to the Indian Astrological Observatory at Hanle in Ladakh astride their Himalayan to learn the nuances of astrophotography from master astral photographer Navaneeth Unnikrishnan for an experience that became a melting pot of passions.
