Stylish, practical, affordable… pretty cool. That’s what people would think about good-looking roadsters back in the day, and it’s what I think of Royal Enfield’s latest bike, the Hunter 350.

After launching a crossover adventure bike in the Scram 411 earlier this year, Royal Enfield has now launched the Hunter 350 a new roadster built from the ground up. While RE already has roadsters in its portfolio, including the Classic 350, the Hunter 350 promises to be different (as you can make out even from the pictures). It is more compact, promises to be more agile, is lighter and even more accessible with that aggressive, less than Rs 1.5 lakh entry price tag. To experience these attributes first-hand and to find out if the Hunter 350 continues to be a RE at heart, I travelled to Thailand’s capital Bangkok earlier this week, where the official first rides had been organised.

The Royal Enfield Interceptor, in a word, is desirable. It's simple design, classy execution and marvellous engine.

I could be wrong, but I think Royal Enfield has created my perfect motorcycle

20-years testing and 23-years racing means I ride a lot of bikes. It’s maybe once per year that a new model sticks out so quickly… Ultra smooth. Balanced. Torquey. Sounds sweet. Fun…

Overall, in my opinion, they are a much better ride in every scenario than, for example, Harley’s Street 500. And dynamically, it is a sweeter handling machine than the outgoing Triumph Street Twin.
